The Harbor
A room that holds whoever shows up.
Fifteen people around one table, or a hundred with the doors rolled open to the water. Somehow it feels right at both.
The Harbor is the long half of the building — bleached oak underfoot, plaster walls, exposed beams overhead, and that wall of east-facing steel glass. At eight in the morning it is the brightest room in Oakland. By evening it goes gold and then blue.
We keep it deliberately unfinished so it can become what you need: the table pulls apart, the chairs stack, the curtains close for a sensory-friendly morning, the corner takes a small stage.
Never a venue. A harbor is somewhere you come in out of the weather.
Coffee is part of the room, not an add-on. So is help carrying things in. So is someone who knows how the sound gear works, because you shouldn't have to.
